It’s been crazy month of back to back hurricanes destroying our waterfront home. Since things are half-way normal and the fish have been biting like crazy, I felt it was time to start posting fishing reports again. Today, October 15th, I took a new client named Josh out to catch his first redfish. With a full moon and cold front hitting the next day, the fish were fired up. We landed over 15 redfish ranging from small to slot. No snook in the creeks yet, starting to see some more black drum show up in the canals. No sign of the sheepshead or trout yet. They should be showing up soon. Thanks for booking with me Josh! Thanks for booking a trip with JC Fishin Charters in New Port Richey, Florida!

New Port Richey Fishing Report 9/21/24
September 21st, I took out Mike and Oliver to chase after Oliver's first snook and first redfish. After getting into the first creek at dead high tide, we caught his first redfish on cut pinfish and continued to catch redfish on live bait in the creek for the first hour of the trip. He even got his biggest Redfish at 23 inches. After that, we fished a deeper pocket cut in the mangroves with live greenbacks and caught his first snook and snapper. We finished out the trip with cut bait missing a few redfish and then catching a baby bull shark. It's safe to say we got Oliver hooked on fishing! Today, August 18th, I took two new clients named Sandra and Andy out for couple hours to chase their first Redfish on the flats. It was mostly sunny with a very slight breeze. We started the trip at a super high low tide fishing oyster bars and within the first 15 minutes of fishing, Sandra landed her first Redfish that was around 25 inches. We grabbed this picture and sent the fish back into the shallows. As the tide came up too high, we found ourselves fishing deep back in a creek where we managed to pull a few more Redfish out of. Thanks Sandra and Randy for a great trip and review.
4 Hour Trip (AM) – Basic Inshore on August 18, 2024
"We had an absolutely fantastic time on our half-day inshore fishing trip with Captain Jason! Despite the hot weather and challenging high tide conditions, he was determined to make our trip a success. His expert knowledge of the area and ability to find the best fishing spots were impressive.
Captain Jason was not only a skilled angler but also a great conversationalist. He made us feel right at home and ensured we were comfortable throughout the trip. His attention to detail, from keeping our lines ready to capturing amazing photos, was top-notch. We were so grateful he had bug spray on hand as it was a lifesaver!
We caught plenty of redfish and made memories that will last a lifetime. Captain Jason is a true professional and we highly recommend him for any fishing adventure. We can’t wait to book another trip with JC Fishin Charter!
Thanks again for an amazing day!"

Today, August 10th, I took two new clients named Eric and Wes out for couple hours to chase his first Redfish on the flats. It was cloudy and partly sunny with an oddly comfortable breeze for August. We started the trip at dead low fishing oyster bars and within minutes of fishing, we were on them. We landed 3 redfish that were upper to over slot and released all of them. We missed a few good bites but were still happy to have gotten such a perfect weather morning to watch the sunrise and pull on some Redfish on the flats. Today, August 1st, I took my neighbor Ben, and my dad out for a couple hours to chase his first Redfish on the flats. It was middle of the day and so hot, but we wanted to fish for a little bit anyway. After ten minutes of fishing, the rod went off and this monster was on the other end. 5 minutes of running around on the flat, this fish finally let us grab it! Awesome little hour session on the flats! Thanks for booking a trip with JC Fishin Charters in New Port Richey, Florida!

Today, July 17th, I took a new client out with his grandfather in law to chase his first Redfish on the flats. We started around 5 am to fish for tarpon on docklights with only a few bites. Then we fished for Mangrove snapper, landing one keeper. We decided to move out to the flat where we landed 5 Redfish with 21” being the biggest one! The mullet were everywhere and I’m actuallty surprised we didn’t get more. We did end up catching this 23 inch trout as a bonus fish in the last few minutes. School’s out and so are the Redfish! Today, July 16th, I took a repeat client out with his nephew to chase his first Redfish on the flats. We started around 6 am and moved out to the flat. Surprisingly, we didn’t see too many mullet around the oyster bars, however, we got on some nice redfish pretty quickly. We landed 6 Redfish in 2 hours of fishing and missed a couple bites. The full moon definitely plays a factor in the aggression level of Redfish, Snook, and Trout. Thanks for booking a trip with JC Fishin Charters in New Port Richey, Florida!

Today, June 28th, I took out a fellow Marylander and his nephew to catch some Redfish on the flats. After trying for snook off the beach and no luck, we crossed over to the flat on the outgoing tide and caught a good handful of slot-upperslot redfish. They pushed out pretty far that day so we had to keep moving and casting. Thanks for booking a trip with JC Fishin Charters in New Port Richey, Florida!

Today, June 14th, I took a repeat client out to do some beach snook fishing. We caught his personal best snook early and then struggled with the bite because of recreational boaters and other fisherman spooking them. We had three really good eats, landing one of them.
