School’s out and so are the Redfish! Today, July 16th, I took a repeat client out with his nephew to chase his first Redfish on the flats. We started around 6 am and moved out to the flat. Surprisingly, we didn’t see too many mullet around the oyster bars, however, we got on some nice redfish pretty quickly. We landed 6 Redfish in 2 hours of fishing and missed a couple bites. The full moon definitely plays a factor in the aggression level of Redfish, Snook, and Trout. Thanks for booking a trip with JC Fishin Charters in New Port Richey, Florida!

Today, June 28th, I took out a fellow Marylander and his nephew to catch some Redfish on the flats. After trying for snook off the beach and no luck, we crossed over to the flat on the outgoing tide and caught a good handful of slot-upperslot redfish. They pushed out pretty far that day so we had to keep moving and casting. Thanks for booking a trip with JC Fishin Charters in New Port Richey, Florida!

Today, June 14th, I took a repeat client out to do some beach snook fishing. We caught his personal best snook early and then struggled with the bite because of recreational boaters and other fisherman spooking them. We had three really good eats, landing one of them. Today, June 12th, I took my first ever charter client out to do some beach snook fishing and it was epic. We caught enough to tire Joe out. The tide was ripping out, we cast grunts up shallow and watched as a school of 30+ inch snook would gulp one down. Thanks for booking a trip with JC Fishin Charters in New Port Richey, Florida!

Today, June 10th, the gulf was like a lake and I had extra bait so my girlfriend and mom and I hit the beach for an evening session. We saw hundreds of snook at high tide but they wouldn’t eat. As soon as the tide changed to outgoing, we hooked up to a couple. Thanks for booking a trip with JC Fishin Charters in New Port Richey, Florida!

Today, April 12th, was a prime example of the element of unexpected catches in the Gulf of Mexico. While trout fishing with corks and whitebait, Melenda hooked what we thought was a shark. As it got closer, we realized it was a Cobia! The fight went on for about 5 minutes with a 7 foot medium rod. What a blast!

Today, April 2nd, a last minute trip opportunity presented itself. I received a call from subscriber of my YouTube channel who saw my business card hanging in a bait shop and called about a last minute two hour trip booking. He had caught snook, redfish, and trout before so but Tarpon were new to him. I made sure to let him know that Tarpon are very finicky eaters and hit or miss but his mind was set on catching one. We set out with only a handful of leftover bait and found them rolling everywhere. After about 15 minutes, one finally ate our bait. The fight went on for what felt like 5 minutes but was probably only a few minutes. After 4 jumps and tiring this fish out, I grabbed the Tarpon firmly with two hands. A 39 and a half inch tarpon for Charles. His first one caught on a spur of the moment fishing trip. Thanks for giving me the call and congrats on your first Tarpon.

Today, April 2nd, I had a 4 hour inshore fishing trip with a local resident of the New Port Richey area named Don. Don’s favorite fish to catch was snook so we started the day out early and used live whitebait to catch snook for the first couple hours of incoming. Then, we ended up catching a few smaller redfish back in the creek toward the end of the trip. Right at the end of the trip, we decided to see if the Tarpon were active and rolling. They were, so we decided to give it a last shot at a homerun. 10 minutes into fishing, we hooked the biggest Tarpon that I personally have seen in that spot. We fought it for a few seconds before it came up, jumped, and went back down under the dock. It was still an awesome sight and fun way to end the trip. Thanks for booking Don!
